The Multioud is built in Canada by Godin. The instrument has no frets, a programmable fishman pre amp (aura pro) with piezo pick up & microphone.

I’ve tuned the Multioud like a guitar but a whole tone deeper.

The Multioud can be used for different kinds of music. You can play Turkish and Arabian scales, but you can use it for any other kind of music. Because the Multioud is fretless, it is possible to play extreme vibratos and slides and use microtonal intervals. It is a short scale instrument (585mm) and sounds plugged and  unplugged  like an Oud. The pre am sounds really good. I prefer to play the Multioud with a plectrum.

In compare with the Multioud, the Glissentar has a longer sustain and and gives you more the feel for playing guitar. The Glissentar has markers for the frets, the Multioud has only markers for the  fifth, seventh and the 12th fret. The pre amp in the Multioud makes it easy to record direct into the DAW, because you need no more microphone.  Recording the Glissentar you need an additional microphone, because the pure piezo sound is not satisfying the ear.
